I was the Arts and Entertainment Community Manager at the Chicago Tribune’s ChicagoNow.com site from March 2009–March 2010. This blog network was one of the first of its kind to exist within the context of a mainstream media organization. I was proud to help launch the site, and build up the arts and entertainment section.

Some of my duties included:

  • Collaboratively launching ChicagoNow.com, the Chicago Tribune’s network of more than 200+ hyperlocal blogs
  • Cultivating niche online communities through outreach, blogging and social media
  • Recruiting and training 50+ Chicago arts writers on best blogging practices, social media and SEO
  • Producing interactive, viral content for the web
  • Building buzz online about offline ChicagoNow.com blogger tweet-ups
