Bzzzzing around SXSW Interactive

I am thrilled to be at SXSW Interactive this year. It’s my first time and I can’t wait to learn tons and meet innovators in emerging technologies and social media.

I’ll be hanging with Jenni Prokopy (@chronicbabe), the Editrix of ChronicBabe.com, an online community for younger women with chronic health issues who want to be their best; Joe Germuska (@germuska), of the Chicago Tribune’s News Apps team; Andrew Huff (@me3dia) and Cinnamon Cooper (@cinnachick) of Gaper’s Block and lots others!

Check out Andrew’s site Sitby.Us, where SXSW Interactive attendees can check into various panels and see which of their friends are there.

There are a million panels to choose from, and everything starts tomorrow at 2pm. Here are the two I’m trying to decide between!

Social Media Marketing for Your Business

Panels or parties? Sleep or Sessions? Veteran SXSW speakers and attendees give their light-hearted insights and tips on making the most of your next few days in geek wunderland.

or How To Rawk SXSW!

Learn to look further than Twitter and Facebook when it comes to using social media to help your business succeed on the web. Learn solid strategies, how to measure success, and all the tools you need to succeed in the fastest growing marketing medium on the web.

Perhaps one of the most exciting things about SXSW Interactive is that you’re likely to connect with new people at any time. This happens in person, of course, but also just through being active on Twitter during a panel.

During a panel about crowdsourcing, the blog WiserEarth picked up one of my tweets, in which I said “crowdsourcing is a part of human nature.” Five minutes of fame? At SXSW Interactive, everyone gets exactly that.
