Alicia Eler is a Chicago-based Social Media Consultant and Writer, specializing in the visual arts.

Formerly the Arts & Culture Community Manager for ChicagoNow.com, a network of Chicago’s best blogs, sponsored by the Chicago Tribune Media Group, Alicia cultivated niche online communities, recruiting and training more than 50 bloggers on best blogging and social media practices.

A seasoned freelance writer and art critic, her work has been published in Artforum.com, Art Papers, Time Out Chicago, Chicago Tribune, Newcity Newspaper, Flavorpill, Kansas City Review magazine, the Windy City Times and Curve Magazine, among others.  Her review of Kansas City-based artist David Ford’s solo exhibition, Relax, will appear in the March/April 2010 edition of Art Papers. As a video art curator, Alicia’s collaborations include Performance Anxiety with video art collector, Jefferson Godard, which screens on April 10 at University of Illinois at Chicago’s Gallery 400, and Video as Video: Rewind to Form, with artist Peregrine Honig.  She holds a BA in Art History from Oberlin College.
