Centerstage is Chicago’s original city guide. Launched before Yelp and a plethora of mobile apps became the way for people to navigate Chicago, CenterstageChicago.com was the most Google-able site for reliable information on local venues. I worked with Centerstage from September 2007–March 2009.

I began working with CenterstageChicago.com as a venue writer and freelance theater critic. After about a year and soon moved up to the Theater Listings Editor. I was eventually promoted to the position of Theater Editor. My duties included the following:

  • Managing 15 freelance theater critics; editing and revising reviews; recruiting new contributors
  • Building relationships with local theater companies and public relations professionals
  • Producing 50+ listings per week for theater, dance and comedy sections, writing witty teasers and plot summaries
