Alicia Eler is an art critic, curator & writer whose projects focus on American pop and consumer culture, social networked identities, adolescence and queer aesthetics. Currently a staff writer for art blogazine Hyperallergic, Alicia is also a contributing critic at Artforum.com, Art Papers and RAW Vision Magazine UK. Her first art reviews were published in the Oberlin Review.In her conversation today, she will discuss how the Internet has changed art production, consumption and criticism. What’s the difference between Internet aesthetics and those of the sanctified Art World “white cube”? Why are Internet-art hybrid crossover projects important? Do online-only art projects matter?
