Who cares about selfies? Me and you and a lot of smart folks in Tulsa.
On Thursday, May 8, I had the pleasure of presenting my selfie lecture at the Philbrook Downtown. Discussing the relationship between selfies, the history of self-portraiture in photography and art, and then looking into contemporary selfie culture, I consider what selfies mean for a culture that exists fluidly on and offline. We are ourselves and ourselfies.
